Discount Programs for Seniors and Adults with Disabilities offered by City of Seattle's Age Friendly Seattle

700 5th Avenue, Seattle Municipal Tower, Seattle, WA 98104

Clients can travel to any of multiple locations around town to secure card, or apply online and have card mailed to home address. Age Friendly Seattle is officially located on 5th Avenue between Columbia and Cherry streets.  Multiple King County Metro routes to 5th Avenue in downtown Seattle. Call King County Metro at (206) 553-3000 or visit http://tripplanner.kingcounty.gov/ for public transit information.
Eligibility
Gold Card:  
  • Seattle/King County/WA residents ages 60 and older.
FLASH Card:  
  • Seattle/King County/WA residents ages 18 and older with disabilities.
Both cards are free to apply for, and anyone who applies online and qualifies will receive their respective card in the mail within 1-2 weeks.

  • Seattle Customer Service Centers
  • Seattle Animal Shelter offices
  • Senior Centers located in Seattle
  • Any branch of Seattle Public Library
The FLASH Card is available online, or in person at:
  • Special Technology Access Resources (STAR) Center
  • Disability Empowerment Center (formerly Alliance of People with disAbilities)
  • Seattle VA Medical Clinic (links & addresses for all listed on our website)
FLASH Card eligibility is the same as for the Metro Transit Reduced Fare Permit, documentation is required and can be uploaded online.   Call or email for more information. Coordinates two discount programs for older adults and people with disabilities. Gold Card for Healthy Aging:
  • Provides people age 60+ with discounts from Seattle area businesses and nonprofit agencies, including theaters, restaurants, Woodland Park Zoo, Seattle Aquarium, Seattle Art Museum, Museum of Flight, and many more!
  • Gold Card holders can receive a 50% fee reduction for both pet adoption AND licensing through Seattle Animal Shelter, as well as reduced or waived adoption and spay/neuter fees for dogs and cats.
FLASH Card:
  • Provides people age 18+ who have qualifying disabilities with discounts from Seattle area businesses and nonprofit agencies, including theaters, restaurants, Woodland Park Zoo, Seattle Aquarium, Seattle Art Museum, Museum of Flight, and many more!
List of business discount programs is regularly updated online. A printable listing is also available, with quarterly updates, on our website--check back online often for most updated listings or to download & print an updated list. Cardholders are encouraged to ask businesses and organizations if they accept the Gold/FLASH Card for any applicable discounts, and if not, whether they'd consider joining the directory and offering a discount. Maintains a directory of participating businesses online.
