Operates a legal clinic providing a free 30-minute consultation with an attorney (60 minutes if an interpreter or other accommodation is needed) Clinic is open to all, but particular focus is on providing culturally-informed legal services in a safe and welcoming environment to individuals who identify as African American or Black. Tacoma Community House is a Department of Justice (D.O.J.) accredited organization, meaning we are authorized and highly trained to provide immigration assistance to clients in need. Our Immigration Specialists speak Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, and Japanese, but we serve individuals who come from different backgrounds and speak many languages. Provides low-cost immigration services to those who qualify as low-come. Offers help with basic immigration services, housing, language, and employment of immigrant families and individuals. Refugee and Immigration services can help clients navigate the immigration process, and provide assistance with visas, petitions, and forms. Services offered include consultation, help with fiancée petition, adjustment of status, immigrant visas, freedom of information act requests, citizenship applications, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) self-petitions, U Visas (for victims of crime), and Petitions for Alien Relative.

Partners with the American Immigration Lawyers Association and community organizations across Washington to provide the following services: - Information about the naturalization process - Citizenship application assistance (N-400 – including reduced fees - and 1-912 fee waiver forms) - Legal review of applications by a volunteer attorney or accredited representative Also provides free citizenship application workshops around Washington State every year. Workshops are best for people with simple applications and for people who have the confidence/ability to represent themselves after the workshops. Hosts a legal clinic specifically designed to address the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals and couples. This clinic is run by QLaw Foundation in partnership with the King County Bar Association. The clinic is open to everyone regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. At the clinic, an attorney will meet with clients for 30 minutes and provide individualized legal advice and information. Clinic attorneys will answer questions and provide information in a variety of areas including family law, immigration, debt and bankruptcy, divorce/dissolution, employment discrimination, and transgender legal issues.

Provides free ESL, citizenship and basic skills such as reading, writing, math and computer use classes and tutoring to adult learners. Helps learners prepare for the GED. Provides naturalization assistance to city of Seattle residents. Students enrolled in the program can receive job search assistance and individual tutoring as well.
