Provides educational scholarships for members of the Swinomish Tribe.

Supports comprehensive employment and training activities while helping clients get the trainings and certifications needed to build a sustainable career, including: -Job counseling -Academic counseling and assistance -Referrals and placement -Support with applications to government benefit programs, such as unemployment and SNAP -Employment-related training Training/Education Incentive:  Individuals entering an accredited college or vocational school program may be eligible for tuition assistance.  Proof of registration and paid fees will be required.    Referrals:  Staff may provide referrals to apprenticeship programs and help clients with job searches.   Support Services:  Upon completing the Workforce Readiness class and finding employment, clients may be eligible for supportive services at the discretion of the Director of the Employment and Training Department.  These services may include: -  Transportation allowance -  Food allowance -  Shoes   -  Work clothing (if required by employer) -  Other reasonable job-related expenses   Summer Youth Employment Experience:  Limited number of work experience positions are available during the summer months to eligible high school students.  Interested parties should contact the WIA office in January for more information. Provides adult students facing economic hardship with financial aid to continue or complete their higher education, including an Associate or Trade degree. Grants are awarded quarterly for transportation, food insecurity, housing, and childcare, allowing students to remain in school.

Basic Food Employment & Training (BFET) Program assists recipients of federal Basic Food Assistance by providing funding for vocational education programs, GED, high school completion, or English as a Second Language classes to increase their opportunities for employment. May receive funding for tuition, fees and textbooks. DSHS approval needed before funding can be awarded. WorkFirst Assists recipients of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) cash assistance from DSHS who need training in order to enter the workforce. WorkFirst funding typically covers tuition, required books and fees for the career training programs that are one year in length or shorter, as well as GED or High School completion. Worker Retraining Provides funding for laid-off and dislocated workers as well as vulnerable workers who need training in order to return to the workforce. Vulnerable workers are employed in an occupation that is not in demand, do not have a previous degree or certificate or need to learn new skills in order to keep their job. Training options include career training programs (certificates and AAS degrees), GED, high school completion, and English as a Second Language classes. Opportunity Grant Provides education grants for low-income students who have not yet earned a degree and are studying an eligible program.   Enroll in an approved pathway of study: Aviation, business, education, healthcare, natural resources or welding. Household income must be below 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Level. Provides up to 45 credits of tuition and $1000 per academic year for books.

Provides financial assistance to help veterans with housing, employment and medical expenses as well as life stability. Financial assistance is provided as part of a client's service plan. - Financial assistance for housing expenses (e. g. , rent, mortgage), eviction prevention, move-in expenses, transitional housing and shelter expenses. - Financial assistance for medical expenses, medical aids/equipment and prescriptions.

Must be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. WorkFirst: Participants may receive tuition and textbook assistance as well as advising and mentoring to ensure graduation and completion. Serves individuals who receive Temporary Assistance for Needy Families from DSHS who are enrolling in adult education classes or ESL classes. Worker Retraining: Provides options for unemployed or underemployed workers to access education and training to maintain employment or to re-enter the workforce. Students may be eligible to receive unemployment benefits while attending school and not participate in job search activities if the training meets criteria. Offers assistance with tuition and books for one quarter. Funding for subsequent quarters depends on availability of funds. Must be eligible for unemployment or exhausted unemployment within the past 48 months or be a displaced homemaker, or a military veteran discharged within the past 48 months.

Provides financial assistance to youth in care and youth aging out of care to attend an accredited college, university, vocational or technical college. The maximum award students can receive is $5,000 per academic year. Awards are based on the Cost of Attendance formula established by the student's college and any unmet need they may have within their financial aid award. Awards may help pay for tuition, books and supplies, housing, transportation and other eligible educational expenses.

Helps students to enter or reenter the workforce through career training, financial aid assistance, job placement assistance and academic planning. Those eligible receive funding for tuition and fees and may also be eligible for help with textbooks, required supplies, a student ID card and a parking permit or ORCA transit pass. Programs provide required tuition, fees, books and transportation. Academic planning and job placement assistance is also available to qualifying students. Workforce Education Programs include the following areas of study: - Automotive Technology (includes I-BEST option) - Aviation Maintenance Technology - Basic & Transitional Studies (GED Prep, HS 21+, English as a Second Language) - CNC Machining (includes I-BEST option) - Culinary Arts - Landscape Horticulture - Manufacturing Academy - MechaReady Industrial Maintenance - Maritime Welding - Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC) - Welding Fabrication Technology - Wine Studies Funding options are available to cover Nursing prerequisite courses.

The primary focus of the program is on post-graduate/undergraduate education or vocational/technical training for dependent children of active duty service members. Assistance may also be provided to children of deceased service members, active duty service members enrolled in commissioning or college degree programs.

WCC offers degree programs approved by the Washington State Approving Agency for the enrollment of those students who are eligible under Veteran Administration (VA) Education Benefits programs. Eligible veterans and dependents of veterans must apply for admission to the college and should contact the WCC's VA office as early as possible before enrolling.  Staff in WCC's VA office submit applications for benefits to the Veterans Administration on behalf of students and certify their quarterly enrollments.
