KCLS offers homework assistance in several ways.    Study Zone: Volunteer tutors provide free homework help at KCLS libraries. Surrounds students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve their goals in life. Places highly trained Student Support Coordinators directly in K-12 schools, throughout Benton and Franklin Counties, to address the systemic barriers and personal obstacles standing between students and their success in the classroom and beyond. School-based staff works every day to address complex matters like social-emotional wellness and access to mental and physical health care while ensuring students have access to basic needs like food, stable housing and technology.

Works in partnership with Kent Meridian and Rainier Beach High Schools to offer year-long after-school academic programs to all newly arrived refugee youth in high school. Classroom Assistants and students meet weekly to complete homework assignments, tackle the senior research project, and complete important college application paperwork, such as the FAFSA. Time is divided into classroom instruction, individual and group work, mentorship, educational workshops, and access to scholastic resources.   Both sites feature Classroom Assistants who focus on assisting students as they participate in academic activities to improve their reading and writing skills and increase their knowledge of college and career readiness. The program strives to provide the information, resources, and access to opportunities to meet and exceed grade level standards, while completing high school graduation and college application milestones in order to graduate on time and with plans to pursue post-secondary education. Also provides opportunities for students to participate in civic and community engagement projects to build their leadership skills as well as to complete service learning requirements for graduation.

The After School Program provides year-round enriching activities designed to support youth in their academic, social-emotional, and life skills development. Offers a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where students can thrive academically through personalized assistance, targeted literacy development, diverse enrichment activities, and access to technology. Beyond academics, the program promotes social-emotional well-being and life skills through a variety of recreational indoor and outdoor activities, including amateur sports teams such as basketball, flag football, and soccer. These team-based sports provide opportunities for youth to build teamwork, leadership, and resilience while staying active and engaged. Additionally, field trips and enrichment groups further support personal growth and foster a sense of community and belonging. During the summer, the Summer Splash program combats the "summer slide" by reinforcing literacy and math skills to help students maintain and improve their academic performance. Also partners with the Kent School District to provide free summer lunches for youth under 18 at all three program locations. The program operates at three King County Housing Authority sites. Each community recreation center features computer labs, activity rooms, teen spaces, and a variety of recreational and educational programming to create a well-rounded experience. Students also receive healthy snacks to stay energized and focused. The program focuses on key life skills such as leadership, teamwork, and resilience, while fostering both soft and durable skills. With the guidance of positive adult role models, youth are empowered to overcome challenges, build confidence, and succeed academically and personally.

Programs designed to enhance families' ability to participate in a multicultural society. An after school program that supports children in Monroe. Twice weekly, children kindergarten through 5th grade meet together to have a healthy snack, play games and do crafts, meet in small groups to focus on some academic and social/emotional learning, then come back together for a short lesson of the day that focuses on their mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing and learning.

Provides various services for community members, including food pantry, tutoring services for students K-12, ESL, basic computer skills classes, small business training and technical assistance, youth organizing (voting registration and civic engagement), Dream As A Team (activities for kids), and Un Buen Consejo, which is a Facebook livestream giving COVID-19 updates, promoting events, and has invites speakers to providing community information, every M Tu & F, 7pm. Also offers Environmental Alliance, which provides information on how to prepare homes for evacuation procedures, evacuation kits.

Programs include academic enrichment, homework assistance, nutritious snacks, outdoor play and other activities geared toward students' social-emotional and academic skills. During school breaks, full day care is offered.

Provides before- and after-school child care programs.  Before-school program offers time for fun with friends, homework help, quiet activities, art projects, gym games, and game room activities.  A light breakfast and afternoon snack are offered daily.  The after-school program combines children by grade with a trained counselor.  Together they participate in age-appropriate activities and field trips.  Vacation child care is available for winter, spring and summer breaks.  Also offers a Pre-K program for youth ages 4-5, located at the main Ballard Boys & Girls Club location.  Clients are transported to and from school in conjunction with before- and after-school care; transportation is also provided for field trips.

Provides a homework assistance program through structured after-school study halls for all grades. Offers one-on-one tutoring as needed for those in fifth grade and up as well as an organized tutoring program. Computer access and basic computer skills tutoring are available.

Assists youth, 13-24 years of age, with application support to get back into school or to obtain GED; as well as application fees, school supplies, and clothing for school.

Provides a before and after school program based out of local community centers, as well as school districts for students in K through 12th grades. Offers academic and enrichment opportunities for students and their families before school, after school, and during the summer. The program's goals are to increase student academic achievements in: math, reading, English, science, students’ engagement and commitment to school, health/fitness and nutrition awareness, technology, arts, music, theater, and robotics. Also serves the families of participating students in conjunction with the school’s Action Team Partnership committees (ATP) to or their local community to create special events, family engagement nights, and educational community opportunities.
