Provides independent living planning to empower people to live independently in their community. Assists with identifying and navigating complex social service systems, housing, transportation, preparing for employment, identifying accommodations, personal assistance management, applying for social security, benefits planning, and advocacy. - Advocacy: works alongside individuals with disabilities to plan and carry out strategic approaches to influence positive change in the community. Represents and advocates for the rights and needs of individuals with disabilities in order to advance the empowerment, inclusion, and wellness of all persons with disabilities. - Emergency Preparedness: Provides emergency preparedness for disabled individuals by creating a plans in case of a disaster. Helps with fire drills, emergency planning, connection with local EMS, and building an emergency kit. - Assists individuals or veterans who are needing to find caregiver and helps with making sure their caregiver gets paid. Must be referred by the VA, if they are a veteran; if they are a civilian, then they'll get help finding a state-funded caregiver. - Has a Covid -19 Advocate that works with individuals with disabilities to help them get a schedule for vaccines, as well as a covid-19 peer support group. - Assists with Power Action Systems (PAS program), which helps individuals with disabilities be able to get modifications to their household to make it more disability accessible.

Offers services to help participants successfully integrate into the community through employment. Includes employment services, behavioral health services and care coordination. Provides vocational evaluations to identify realistic career options and work abilities. Offers job seeking skills training, which prepares clients to apply, interview, and secure a job. Additionally provides job search assistance as well as job retention services once a client has obtained a job. Behavioral health services include psycho-socio assessments, to identify emotional issues, cognitive skills, barriers, and academic abilities as well as counseling, case management and recovery services. Care coordinators are available to assist participants with navigating and integrating their health care and social service needs.

Provides case management and advocacy services to accomplish goals and determine accommodation needs for Deaf, hard of hearing, and late-deafened individuals. Clients receive support in independent living skills, including: - Finding employment - Finding housing - Completing paperwork - Financial management - Navigating social services - Navigating health issues - Effective communication strategies, and more For organizations and businesses: Provides training on accessibility for Deaf and hard of hearing employees, clients, or customers. Provides consultation services that are designed to bring government, corporations, and other agencies into compliance with existing legislation in place for persons who are Deaf, hard of hearing, and/or DeafBlind.

Offers support services for adults living with mental illness. Provides a pre-employment day program where members work side-by-side with staff to develop work skills, self-confidence, strengths and talents. Technology and equipment is available for members to learn and work on. Provides a commercial kitchen where members prepare meals available to members and staff for a small fee. Also helps members apply for supported and non-supported employment in the community. Offers social programs where members join together for picnics, bingo, museum tours, festivals, sports and games.

Provides a comprehensive outpatient mental health program. Case managers, psychiatrists and nurses work with single adults, most of whom are or have been homeless, in assisting them in their journey towards recovery. This includes help with obtaining and maintaining housing, improving clinical and social stability and enriching their level of independence and self-sufficiency. Services are provided in DESC offices, at client homes and elsewhere in the county such as shelters, hospitals, jails and wherever else clients’ lives take them. Services include the following: - Case management - Psychiatric services - Counseling - Therapy - Representative payee services - For some clients, assistance in obtaining employment or referral to vocational service programs SAGE services are licensed under the Washington State Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery and are provided under contract with King County Behavioral Health and Recovery Division. All work is focused around the individual consumer's personal goals.
