From acquiring new skills or building friendships, our friendly, helpful and compassionate volunteers feel good about helping our patients and families. Volunteering has a rich history at MultiCare Yakima Memorial, starting in 1948 when the first guild members began fundraising to meet our community's need for a new hospital. Today, volunteers are an integral part of the staff. They work with Memorial employees to enhance the service and hospitality given to patients, families and visitors.

Offers a variety of volunteer activities, including: Citizen Patrol, which includes disabled parking enforcement, radar speed checks, Park and Ride lot patrol, stolen vehicle search, and other non-hazardous patrol duties. Clerical or data processing work: for those who prefer an office environment. Project Care Track: which provides electronic transmitter bracelets to help us quickly locate and rescue those with a tendency to wander, such as people suffering from Alzheimer’s, Down Syndrome, Autism, and other conditions. Offers volunteer opportunities in clerical positions and working with children.

Offers furniture to Thurston County residents who are transitioning into permanent housing. Ministry picks-up and delivers new or gently used mattresses and other needed furniture on Saturdays. All deliveries are based on availability. Ministry is not responsible for any furniture being delivered once items have been accepted by the client. Ministry accepts donations from the community and will schedule accordingly based on location.

Summit has volunteer opportunities for volunteer puppy raisers and sitters.

Sponsor volunteers can join their company and Rebuilding Together South Sound for National Rebuilding Day or one of our other Rebuild Days. Sponsorship companies get priority project placement. Community volunteers can join Rebuilding Together South Sound for our Fall Rebuilding Day the last Saturday in October or Veterans Day the second Saturday in November. Other opportunities may arise throughout the year. For more information, please email. Volunteers of any skill level are welcome. We are always looking for volunteers who work in the construction industry to support our repair programs – specifically general contractors, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, roofers, and HVAC technicians. We would also welcome volunteers to support some of our administrative work including scanning client files, helping with mailings, and other office tasks. The ideal candidate would be able to commit to a 4 hour time block, once per week, for at least 3 months. Please note - we do not have capacity to support time bound volunteer needs such as graduation requirements or court ordered volunteering.

The Habitat Store is a new and used building materials store operated by Habitat for Humanity of Kitsap County. Local businesses, contractors, or others needing more shelf space donate items to the store, and in turn, we sell the items at a discount rate. Items are sold at an average 75%-95% off retail price. High quality items are recycled instead of being thrown into a landfill. 100% of the profits support the work of Habitat. You can come by and shop or even get involved in the operation. Volunteers provide invaluable service to the store and work a variety of jobs. Material donations can be made two main ways. Drop your item off at the store or call the store and have them pick your item up.

Fishline's Comprehensive Services Center offers various support programs offered through on-site partner agencies. These services include housing assistance through the Kitsap County Housing and Essential Needs Program, which provides rental assistance, security deposits, and essential needs like hygiene items. The Kitsap Division of Aging and Long Term Care offers resources for older adults and adults with disabilities. The Housing Solutions Center provides housing assistance, including shelters and rental aid. NAMI Kitsap offers mental health support groups, while Peninsula Community Health Services provides dental care on a sliding scale. Additionally, Soundworks Job Center helps low-income and homeless individuals, as well as veterans, find employment.

Offers volunteer opportunities, including one-time group projects such as special events or essential drives. Individual volunteers support ongoing operations in roles such as donation sorting, shopping, furniture assembly, and stock assistance. A monthly time commitment is required.

The Serenity Thrift Store, located in Sequim, sells gently used items at reasonable prices. You can find a large assortment of furniture, clothes, jewelry, collectibles, antiques and household goods, as well as holiday gifts and unusual, hard-to-locate items. On occasion, items such as automobiles, RVs and special collectibles are available. Revenue from the Serenity Store funds Serenity House activities that are not fully funded by grants, such as the family shelter. This store has three departments: the main store, the furniture showcase, and the appliance center. Pick up of large item donations can only be facilitated for donations from Sequim at this time. Please call to arrange pick up if needed.

Dinner provided with a presentation by a local resource usually followed by an update on recent organizational activities. First month of the quarter on the third Wednesday.

Also accepts donations of new, used, or surplus merchandise The proceeds from The Habitat Store go to building more affordable housing for deserving families. Habitat homeowners contribute volunteer hours to the building of their homes, providing not only an affordable mortgage and a safe, decent place to live, but also hope and personal dignity for their families.

Thrift Store. Proceeds from sales of donated items help fund the food bank and client services.  Offers clothing jewelry, housewares, linens, shoes, books, supplies, and many other items.

Sells low-cost clothing, furniture, and household items, including new & used items such as toys, household appliances, dishes, pictures, books, CDs, furniture, and a men's section. Thrift store was established to help raise funds to build homes for families in need in Lake Chelan Valley. Donations and shopping ensures that the store continues to provide simple, decent, affordable housing. Volunteer opportunities include sales, pricing/sorting, display/decorating/cleaning, and maintenance.

The Healthy Foods Market offers a grocery-store-style shopping experience with fresh produce, meat, dairy, dry/canned goods, baby food, diapers, and more. Registered clients may shop once weekly and are admitted on a first-come, first-served basis.
