The Housing Justice Project legal advice clinic begins at 8:30am every Friday at the Thurston County Courthouse, Building 2. Clients on the Unlawful Detainer docket (eviction court hearing) must also arrive at 8:30am.

Hosts a legal clinic specifically designed to address the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals and couples. This clinic is run by QLaw Foundation in partnership with the King County Bar Association. The clinic is open to everyone regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. At the clinic, an attorney will meet with clients for 30 minutes and provide individualized legal advice and information. Clinic attorneys will answer questions and provide information in a variety of areas including family law, immigration, debt and bankruptcy, divorce/dissolution, employment discrimination, and transgender legal issues.

Also assist residents of Lewis County in Olympia until a clinic can get set up in Lewis County. Provides legal advice for the following issues for low-income debtors: -  Lawsuits and issues related to debt collection -  Collection agency abuse -  Supplemental proceedings -  Garnishment -  Auto purchase or auto loan disputes -  Consumer scams -  Contracts/warranties -  Identity theft -  Predatory lending -  Student loans (federally subsidized or private) -  Overpayments to debt creditors -  Poor credit -  Debts to a landlord, or client is considering breaking their lease Does not assist clients with bankruptcy, but can help a client decide if bankruptcy is a good option. If it's not a problem CLEAR Sr can help with, they will try to refer the caller to somewhere that can help. Pro Bono attorneys provide free consultations regarding family law issues to low-income residents of Snohomish County who meet financial guidelines. Advice can be obtained regarding family law matters. Representation for court/hearings cannot be guaranteed, although many cases are referred to attorneys for additional services.

We will ask you for information about the person, business or agency with whom you are having a problem to identify any conflicts of interest. If you are calling on behalf of another person, we will determine whether we can speak with you or whether we need to speak directly with the person on whose behalf you are calling both to avoid conflicts and to assure that we can obtain adequate information about the client and case from you.  If you are eligible to speak with a lawyer or paralegal, he or she will ask you about your problem. Please have papers or documents concerning your problem with you when you call. It will also help if you have important information such as the names of people involved with the problem, and their addresses and telephone numbers.
